One of our favorite things to do is helping customers with a jewelry restyle or diamond remount, transforming pieces of jewelry that they no longer wear, into something new that they love and wear all the time.

You can call it Restyling, Remounting, Reusing or even Recycling your old jewelry. It is the process of taking a diamond or colored stone out of its current setting, and remounting it into a new Ring, Pendant or Earring. Because sometimes you just need a change!

As jewelry styles change and as your jewelry wears over time you may want to put your engagement diamond or a favorite colored stone into a totally new setting and give it a brand new look.  Because of their superior hardness and durability, diamonds are perfect for remounting.  Your diamond is already millions of years old, so remounting it into a new semi-mount or pendant won’t hurt it in any way.  Most colored stones are also able to be remounted depending on their level of wear.  We can determine the safety of your stones before we do any work.

What if you don’t want to make a drastic change, but your current ring is broken or worn?

Just because you have the ability to make a drastic change to your rings style doesn’t mean you have to. Sometimes when jewelry becomes very worn it makes more sense to replace the setting rather than repair it. If that’s the case, we’ll find or make a setting that resembles your original design as closely as possible.  One of the most common remount requests is simply switching an older 14K yellow gold diamond engagement ring mounting into a similar 14K white gold diamond engagement ring mounting.

What happens to the old setting?

That’s entirely up to you. You have the option of either keeping the old setting as a keepsake (you can always restore it or reuse it later), or you can sell the old setting to us for cash or store credit.  Since we offer an additional value for store credit, you can get more for your ring by applying it to the cost of the remount.

What if there are several different rings or stones of different sizes and colors that need remounting?

No problem at all. Simply bring in all of your old stones of any shape and color. It doesn’t matter whether they’re loose diamonds or mounted colored stones. We’ll start by identifying the different types and sizes of the stones and we’ll work with you to create a design that utilizes as many of your existing stones as possible.

How is the new Custom Design Ring designed?

There are several different ways that we can design your new custom ring, and often we use a combination of all of them. 1) We can sketch out the ring or specific parts of the ring on paper;  2) We can look through different catalogs or online for similar ring designs, and then combine the favorite parts of different rings; and our favorite way 3) We can design your ring using our 3-D Custom Design software where we can create a one-of-a kind design within minutes, or you can be the jewelry designer yourself since it’s incredibly user friendly.  We’ll be happy to show you how.
