Happy GREEN 2-0-1-3!

We are thrilled that “Emerald” Green, also known as PANTONE 17-5641, is the color of the year for 2013.

It is often seen in brilliant, square-cut precious gemstones and Pantone is counting on its association with the color of growth, renewal and prosperity.

“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum.”

For centuries, many countries have chosen  green to represent healing and unity.

The color reminds us of simpler  things such as grass and Mother Nature.  Green is the color of growth  and signifies America in 2013.

The rich tone is all about luxury,  just like jewels and money. Pantone is  describing the choice as, “lively, radiant, lush.”

A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony.

As it has through history, the multifaceted emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate.

“Symbolically, Emerald brings a  sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in  today’s complex world. This powerful and universally appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.”

Emerald seems like a nature-inspired pick and could be used to bring the outdoors inside, especially during the upcoming winter months.

Fashion designers are using it as an accent color — for purses, shoes, jewelry and in smaller pieces like scarves and sweaters.

Here are some tips on how you can embrace the color Emerald in your life:
Lively and radiant: Just like in nature, greens look good with bright colors. Pair it with bold yellows and oranges for an energizing jolt.

Lush: Emerald is a jewel tone. Take a hint from jewelry counters and mix it with rich purples, blues, reds, black and golds.

Balance and harmony: Embrace the zen of emerald by pairing it with grays, whites and muted yellows or blues.
