Appraisals

What it’s worth

We perform accurate, certified appraisals of your fine jewelry, whether new or handed down as an heirloom, to meet your insurance or estate inventory needs. Our in-house Gemologists trained extensively at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).  Diamond, Jewelry & Watch Appraisals: For Insurance and Valuations

There are times in life when it is very important to know how much the jewelry you have in your possession is worth. Insurance companies often require an appraisal before they’re willing to extend coverage. The settlement process works similarly, whether you’re negotiating the end of a marriage or handling an estate. Let’s not forget, it’s nice to know what you have before you sell your jewelry – why accept a price that’s far too low?

Professional Appraisals Performed On Site

Written appraisals, for insurance and settlement purposes are prepared by our staff of GIA Graduate Gemologists in our Gem Laboratory. These appraisals include a photograph of the item, along with a detailed description, quality analysis and weights on all stones, materials used, and an expected replacement or estate value calculated to industry standards.

Appraisal prices:

$125 for each item*
$188 for rush service

There is an additional cost of $40 for a full diamond report (if required by insurance company) on diamonds one (1) carat or larger. This includes detailed information on the diamond including a plot/mapping of the clarity characteristics.

Please bring any documentation such as lab reports from GIA, EGL, AGS etc. as well as any sales receipts, warranties, old insurance summaries listing the property, and old appraisals.
*Any item with a combined total weight of more than two (2) carats may incur additional charges
